Daily Creates 2: Audio

Prompt 1: Fish disco

For this activity, I was guided to draw an image of what I thought a fish disco would look/sound like on paper. Here is my interpretation

Prompt 2: Turning music into art

For this prompt it used a link to a soundbox website. It was free to use and turned any audio recording into visuals to create art. I had a lot of fun when I brought out my guitar and recorded a few songs to watch how they transformed into visual images/colours.

Prompt 3: nostalgia machine

This activity had me insert the year I was born and then generated a few songs from that year for me to pick from and find one that “spoke to me”. I had selected “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield, as it is a song my friends and I used to sing on the way to soccer tournaments and it was used as one of our warmup songs on the field. I thought it held the most nostalgia out of the song selections.

Prompt 4: Introduce yourself in a language you don’t speak

English: “Hello my name is Katie. I am okay”

Spanish: “Hola, me ilamo Katie. Estoy bien.

Prompt 5: What song is this statue playing?

For this photo the first song that popped into my head was “Cotton Eyed Joe”

This week, I really enjoyed all of the prompts. I loved that I got to use different mixed medias including, drawing, videos, text, and even audio recordings. I think that this week I really got to explore different activities around audio and I would even consider using them in my classrooms as I think they are something any age group could enjoy and the level of difficulty could be made easier or harder depending on the grade to keep students entertained.
